Emergency Medicine: Ethiopia Update & Call for Applicants

The holidays come upon us, and are too soon gone. With them, though, is a chance to reflect on the year that passed and what matters most. We are particularly grateful to the large and growing number of people who, through trips to Addis or by giving from Toronto, have expanded their circle of care all the way to Ethiopia, and with that, contributed to making many people well.

HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE RESEARCH SUBJECTS AGED 18-49 YEARS NEEDED FOR EXERCISE STUDY

Researchers at the Clinical Cardiovascular Physiology Laboratory (University Health Network and Mount Sinai Hospital, Division of Cadiology) are currently recruiting patients with elevated resting blood pressure (>130 systolic but <160, not yet on medication) 18-49 years of age to participate in a study looking at the effects of exercise on the activity of your nervous system, and to determine which neural mechanism is involved.

Master Teacher Program - Dr. Umberin Najeeb Appointed Co-Director

We are delighted to announce the appointment of Dr. Umberin Najeeb as Co-Director of the Department of Medicine’s Master Teacher Program.  Dr. Najeeb will be joining Dr. Danny Panisko to lead the MTP and is replacing Dr. Tina Borschel, who has left the University of Toronto.
