Thank you to all who attended our Competence by Design Grand Rounds on April 18. The question period was animated, and instructive! Thank you for your insights. For those of you who could not make it, we look forward to seeing you at the on-site training sessions on EPA assessments (entrustable professional activities) in June 2018

  • Sunnybrook- June 8 @ noon- TBD
  • St Michael's Hospital- June 28th @11am- 1-011 Bond Conf Room
  • University Health Network- June 14 - TWH, Fell Pavilion, 6th floor, Room 103

Here is a list of the Emergency Medicine EPAs. You’ll observe that EPAs resonate with what we do daily on shift. Since we are all busy to the nth degree, we have simplified the assessment requirements for each and will be sharing with you at the site visits.

I want to leave you with a concept that was introduced by Dr. Denyse Richardson at our grand rounds. The Growth Mindset. A term coined by Carol Dweck, a Growth Mindset is one where learners embrace process learning instead of performance learning, responding to failure as a part of that learning process, and not as a defining critical moment. Here is a graphic that presents the main concepts. I found it enlightening, and wanted to share with you.
