2019 McLaughlin Centre Accelerator Grant Competition

The McLaughlin Centre is pleased to announce the 2019 McLaughlin Centre Accelerator Grant Competition - Whole Genome Data and Genetic Risk Scores. Building on the success of eight previous competitions, grants will be awarded for 1 year with up to $100,000 of funding from the McLaughlin Centre. The competition will be based on invited grant applications passing an initial letter of intent stage. Both steps will go through committee peer-review adjudicated by the Director.

Letter of Intent:

Letters of Intent up to 2 pages long should outline:

  • Background and rationale
  • Objectives and activities
  • Relevance to the McLaughlin Centre mission
  • Planned deliverables
  • Brief budget summary

Application:

Full grant applications will be a maximum of 10 pages including references. Priority will be given to applications demonstrating promise for near-term deliverables, potential to seed larger grants, and those involving two or more institutions from the University of Toronto Faculties (and their Departments and Institutes) and the hospitals/research institutes fully affiliated with the University of Toronto (TAHSN). 

Timelines:

  • LOI Deadline - December 7, 2018
  • LOI Decision - January 11, 2019
  • Application Deadline - March 8, 2019
  • Application Decision - April 19, 2019
  • Funding Start - May 1, 2019
