Past Department Chair Retires
The Department of Medicine would like to say a special thank you to one of our most active leaders upon his official retirement. Dr. Arnold Aberman served as University of Toronto’s Department Chair of Medicine from 1989-1992 and Dean of the Faculty of Medicine from 1992-1999. Prior to serving in those roles, Dr. Aberman was Physician-in-Chief at Mount Sinai Hospital and Toronto General Hospital and held many other leadership positions at various academic organizations.
Dr. Aberman continues to be recognized for his contributions to medicine and academic leadership. As was announced in last month’s MediNews, Dr. Aberman was recently awarded the Order of Canada. Congratulations once again Dr. Aberman, Professor Emeritus, on a career filled with continued achievement and success!
