What Documentation - Where and When

What defines you in this category:  You lead educational programs and develop curricula

  • Contribution to the field of health professional education, through participation in professional associations dedicated to educational development, research in education and contributions to the education literature. For promotion to professor, evidence is required of a national/international reputation in the field of health professional education due to sustained participation in research in education, contributions to the medical/health professions educational literature or active leadership in professional associations dedicated to educational development.
  • Education leadership in faculty, department, division or hospital. This includes
  • significant roles in educational administration where, under the candidate’s direct
  • leadership, innovative programmes or curriculum have been developed.
Documenting Teaching and Education as the predominant pathway for your promotion requires specific documents that best describes your education done as scholarship.

Documenting Educational Scholarship seen through CPA:

The policy states that the Teaching and CPA dossiers may be compiled into ONE DOSSIER presentation, appropriately cross-referencing the overlapping area. Overlaps between activity in Creative Professional Activity and Teaching and Education, should be listed in both sections and/or cross-reference.  A combined CPA Dossier and Formal Teaching Dossier will naturally exceed the size restrictions for the CPA Dossier outlined under CPA Dossier: Appendices

Creative Professional Activity Report

Please review the definition of CPA, and the "Getting Started Template" to aid your analysis of your scholarship before creating your CPA introduction and Creative Professional Activity Report.

Create your CPA Introduction using the Creative Professional Activity Report.

The University of Toronto Creative Professional Activity Report is one of the standard reports provided in WebCV.

If you presently do not have access to WebCV, please contact the Department of Medicine Business Officer to discuss access to the application for your promotion.

If you do not manage your CV in WebCV, you are asked to prepare your Creative Professional Activity Report by using the  MicroSoft Word version available through this link.  This version follows the same format available in WebCV.
