1.  Introduce an ongoing clinical investigation program addressing the early pathophysiology of Type 2 Diabetes in women with a history of gestational diabetes

2.  Discuss the relevance of non-traditional cardio-metabolic risk factors (including adiponectin and inflammatory proteins) to insulin resistance and beta-cell dysfunction

3.  Discuss the role of ethnicity in this context
