The club is made up of 240 members who are among the most outstanding general internists and subspecialists in the state of Texas. The founding purpose of the club was and still is the collegial pursuit of medical scientific knowledge alongside professional interaction among members. The Club holds two scientific meetings specifically for its members each year, whose continuing education programs are designed to improve the quality of patient care in all the areas of Texas in which its members practice. An in state meeting occurs in February or March and is rotated among Texas cities. The out of state meeting is held in the Fall at a city selected by the President of the Club.
