Litwin and Family Centre in Genetic Medicine University Health Network/Mount Sinai Hospital LEARNING OBJECTIVES: Using stroke as a framework: 1. To demonstrate an understanding of when to suspect a monogenic genetic disorder in internal medicine. 2. To illustrate genetic disorders in which the diagnosis can lead to important alterations in medical management and outcome. 3. To describe how to effectively involve the clinical genetics team in the diagnosis and management of a patient and/or their family.
