Genes and Environment in the Pathogenesis of PCOS

Learning Objectives:
At the end of this presentation, participants should be able to:

  1. Recognize that PCOS is a non-mendelian, complex genetic disorder;
  2. Identify reproductive phenotypes in male as well as female first-degree relatives;
  3. Identify disease susceptibility locus;
  4. Define genotype-phenotype associations; and
  5. Examine hypotheses for pathogenesis of PCOS.
