  1. To review the epidemiology, risk factors, and pathophysiology of ICU-acquired weakness, and its association with long-term outcomes in survivors of critical illness
  2. To review the rationale and evidence behind the use of physical medicine and rehabilitation in preventing/mitigating ICU-acquired weakness, and its effect on patient outcomes
  3. To review the results of a multifaceted quality improvement project designed to enhance the provision of early physical medicine an rehabilitation in patients with acute respiratory failure
