Accredited Rounds

Background

Since January 2000, the University of Toronto Department of Medicine (UofT DOM) has provided rounds accreditation, evaluation processing, and attendance tracking to Departmental faculty members.  These services were initiated to help usher in the then new Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons Maintenance of Certification program and help ensure Departmental faculty members were enabled to meet the Royal College’s requirements through its Continuing Education program.

Eleven years on, the UofT DOM leadership has concluded that this initiative has reached maturity and internal resources need to be reassigned in order to meet the changing needs of faculty and trainees.  As you are likely aware, the UofT DOM is no longer providing rounds accreditation, evaluation processing, and attendance tracking services, as of January 1, 2011.

Accreditation

Rounds should be accredited directly with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons.  For details, please see rcpsc.medical.org/opa/moc-accreditation/self-accreditation/index.php.

Should you need any assistance with this process, please do not hesitate to contact the UofT DOM Office of CE & KTE at 416-978-4499 or christian.base@utoronto.ca.
